DigiCon 2022 puts the spotlight on the startup economy

The largest and most anticipated annual digital conference — a gathering of brands, advertising professionals, and business leaders — will soon be upon us again. DigiCon Valley 2022 is coming on October 10-14, 2022, 9AM to 1PM PST.

This year’s theme, as unveiled by the Internet & Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP), puts the spotlight on the startup economy. The Gobi-Core Philippine Fund Ecosystem Report of 2021 perceived that the growing startup scene in the country is ripe for it to finally become a key player in the technology sphere, in relation to ASEAN counterparts.

The future for development and expansion is projected with optimism as logistics, e-commerce, and fintech sectors continue to rise locally, especially in a post-pandemic economy. It is expected that Philippine firms will raise more investments in the next three years versus the past five years combined.

Delegates to DigiCon Valley 2022 will see four new tracks that tackle the different stages of innovation: Launchpad, Hypergrowth, Breakthrough, and Enterprise. All in all, they will see about 100 speakers across 65 sessions in this 5-day event.

The keynote speakers are in their own fields of expertise and the lineup for this year’s DigiCon is star-studded:

• Mark Ritson – a world-renowned marketing expert and academic
• Arianna Huffington – one of the most influential female entrepreneurs in the world, founder of the Huffington Post, founder and CEO of Thrive, and the author of at least 15 books (I have read at least 2 of her books and I look forward to hearing her live!)
• Jake Knapp – co-founder of Character Ventures and the inventor of the Design Sprint

The last two years of DigiCon were completely virtual due to the pandemic but this year, while the sessions will still remain virtual, there will now be face-to-face networking through DigiCon After-Hours. Held between 6-9pm on select evenings across the city, major sponsor will host physical gatherings. There will be cocktails, entertainment, and speed networking, allowing delegates to reconnect with others in the industry.
