Globe celebrates National G Day (917 Day) this 2021 by encouraging support for community partners
Every year, Globe celebrates the day of its iconic and longstanding 0917 prefix. I am proud to be the holder of a 0917 number since the early 1990s.
For many years now, Globe has been celebrating September 19 as National G Day or 917 Day. This year, with so many communities greatly affected by the pandemic, Globe is rallying its more than 85 million customers nationwide to help by passing on reward points to these communities.
The Globe Rewards donation platform has already raised almost P40-M pesos since its launch which are in the form of cash donations and Rewards points. These donations have benefited health workers, frontliners, and medical institutions, as well as communities in need.
This whole month of September, the celebration continues and Globe has lined up more activities for its customers that will allow them to give back to partner organizations, communities, or groups that want to help.
Here’s how.
G Legends Cup
This amateur mobile gaming tournament culminates on September 22. Winners will have the chance to share their prize with their beneficiary of choice. Music fans can also contribute to the partner beneficiaries by attending the G Music Fest on September 25 and 26.
GlobeOne app
All-year round, customers can donate excess or unused points to different community beneficiaries via the new GlobeOne app.

Their advocacies include health and wellness, education, environment protection, fighting joblessness and hunger, disaster response, and child safety.
This initiative by Globe is part of its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG), specifically UN SDG No. 9 which emphasizes the roles of infrastructure and innovation as crucial drivers of economic growth and development.
I’d like to personally ask those who read this and who are Globe subscribers to take that small step to help, using your rewards points or cash. Use the GCash app or the new GlobeOne app and give from the heart to any of the beneficiaries named above. In this time of the pandemic, even from the safety of our homes, we can do something to alleviate the plight of so many through these partner beneficiaries with so little. No matter how little we have, when these are pooled together, we can make a difference. Don’t let your reward points expire without using them. Donate them instead.
