HP jumpstarts 2020 with two business convertibles that spell lightness, freedom, and flexibility

HP brings to the Philippines two CES 2020 Innovation Award honorees that represent the changing workstyles and lifestyles of Filipinos across several generations.

There’s a fairly new term nowadays for devices used by different generations — from Gen Zs to Millennials to Baby Boomers — the business convertible. The business convertible, which comes in detachable or non-detachable variants, works like your conventional laptop but with a touchscreen. You can use it as a regular laptop but you can also fold it and use it as a tablet.

Introduced during the event were the HP Elite Dragonfly, the world’s lightest business convertible, and the HP Spectre x360, the world’s smallest convertible.

The HP Elite Dragonfly

The HP Elite Dragonfly is a beautiful and ultra-lightweight laptop. Unlike many laptops that come in the usual black, dark gray, silver hues that dominate offices, the HP Elite Dragonfly mirrors the beauty of the dragonfly as its cover comes in an eyecatching, iridescent Dragonfly Blue.

This laptop is so lightweight (it starts at 0.99 kg), you can actually hold it up with one hand. HP was able to achieve this level of lightness because the laptop is made from magnesium. If you swap out the 2-cell battery for the longer life 4-cell battery, the weight goes up to a little over a kilo, which isn’t bad and you get a much longer battery life, up to 24.5 hours. Powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core vPro processor, it has the world’s highest screen-to-body ratio (almost 86%) in a 13.3-inch laptop that instantly transforms from PC to tablet and vice versa.

The HP Elite Dragonfly is also the world’s first laptop with built-in Tile, the world’s leading smart location company. Readily see where a misplaced or lost notebook is. With the optional Tile Premium service, also get proactive alerts when the laptop is left behind.

The HP Spectre x360

The latest HP Spectre x360 is 13% smaller than the previous generation with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by a quad-core 10th Gen Intel Core processor and has a battery that lasts up to 22 hours. You can see the exquisite craftsmanship and detail that went into HP Spectre x360, which comes in Nightfall Black with copper luxe accents and a gorgeous gem-cut design, making it a business convertible any generation would love to own.

Take a look at that beautiful gem-cut corner. It has a strategically located USB-C port (how come no one else ever thought about this before?) that provides better cable management and angles peripherals away from you. The HP Spectre x360 also features the smallest IR camera at 2.2mm. It has a fast charging feature that also goes from 0% to 50% in approximately 30 minutes only.

The HP Spectre x360 prioritizes security with its award-winning integrated privacy screen, the HP Webcam Kill Switch, a dedicated mute mic button, and fingerprint reader located on the keyboard deck. To activate the privacy screen, one has to only press F1 to protect your confidential data from curious eyes. The HP Webcam Kill Switch is a physical switch that turns off your PC’s camera when not in use. No need for that unsightly tape over one’s webcam.

Both PCs feature Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the screen surface, especially when it is used as a tablet.

Both the HP Elite Dragonfly and the HP Spectre x360 are already available for purchase. The HP Elite Dragonfly SRP begins at PhP 81,440 while the HP Spectre x360 starts at PhP 79,990.
