Instagram now allows switching between multiple accounts
FINALLY!!! A feature that I have been asking Instagram for is now here. You can now switch between multiple accounts without logging out from one and logging back in on another!
I maintain two personas online because on one hand, I have a yoga community where I post yoga and wellness-related photos and, on the other hand, my yang life as a blogger, social media person, and citizen advocate requires that I keep those posts separate. But because Instagram, for the longest time, did not allow automatic switching I had to dump all my Instagram photos on just one account (@yogajanemanila).
It was really not the best since I wanted to separate my yoga and wellness from my other lifestyle and advocacy photos. Till now!
I read an article that said Instagram was now offering multiple account switching. I updated my apps on all my devices and yessssss! It works! Here is how my Instagram now looks.
1. Update your Instagram app to the latest version (version 7.15 on iOS and Android). Then log in.
2. Go to your profile and tap the gear or 3-dot icon found on the top right of screen.
3. Scroll down and Add Account. Enter username and password of the new account you want to add to your open Instagram account. Repeat no. 3 to add other accounts (you can add a maximum of 5 Instagram accounts.)
4. To switch between accounts, click your profile logo on lower right of screen. Tap on your username on the topmost part of screen. A dropdown menu will now show you your other accounts.
Thanks, Instagram…
Please do follow me on both my Instagram accounts: @yogajanemanila for yoga and wellness; @thephilippinebeat for all others.
