LG Nexus 5: a Sweet KitKat Phone Exclusively from Smart
Smart will be offering exclusively the first Android phone running KitKat (Android 4.4) – the LG Nexus 5.
Subscribers under Unli Surf Plan 1500 will be able to get the Nexus 5 for free, which runs on Smart’s LTE network. Under this plan, subscribers also get 120 all-network texts and 60 minutes of calls every month. A 30-month lock-in period is in effect.
Here are some technical details of the LG Nexus 5:
Display: 5.0″ full HD IPS display
Processor: 2.26 GHz quad-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon)
Rear Cam: 8MP with Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS)
Weight: 4.59 oz
Design: Narrow bezel allows maximum active display area with edge-to-edge viewing platform
The Nexus 5 has some cool user features.
Google Wallet – Of course, being a Google phone, it comes with this. Just tap your phone to pay with Google Wallet and other apps
Smarter Dialer – No need to rearrange contacts. Based on your usage, it suggests to you who you are likely to call. And if you can’t find the name, a voice search or manual search will.
Print on the fly
Google Products – Google Maps, Hangout, Google + work beautifully on the phone
And probably the coolest, hands-free feature I like is “OK, Google”. What is this? Well, that’s all you need to say. Just say “OK, Google” and the KitKat system readies your phone for your next command. Do a voice search, look up your contacts, send texts, get directions or play music just by commanding the Nexus 5. This is great for those times when your hands are tied doing stuff like driving, cooking or cleaning up.
Now, all I need is for someone to test drive its battery life and tell me what is its average battery life with wifi or 3G on.
