Samsung’s Industry Business Solutions Center recently unveiled

This is a heads-up for industries in the healthcare, retail/hospitality, education and office/banking/finance industries. Samsung just recently unveiled their new Industry Business Solutions Center located at Campus Avenue, McKinley Hill.

Bringing together Samsung’s products and software that build on convergence, current digital technology and productivity, the center is a showcase of all the possibilities that these industries can now avail of.

I joined a tour around the Industry Business Solutions Center and here is what is already available.

The Center greets visitors with a huge video wall which can show individual windows, each showing a different set of information, or it can become one huge wall showing an enlarged view of a map, traffic situation, weather information or anything else. Video walls are very good in what many refer to as “war rooms” — those centers that are used for disaster monitoring, strategy mapping, command centers.

Watch this introductory video.

HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY
Imagine staying in a hotel room where you can control the room lights as well as get your billing and order other services via Samsung devices. Oh, did they tell you that a printer in the hotel room allows you to print business stuff on the fly too?

RETAIL INDUSTRY
Imagine walking into a restaurant where the menus change according to the time of day or advertisements flash alongside interactive menus. Here are some of the things that the retail industry can do.

OFFICE SOLUTIONS

More and more workers work under BYOD (Bring Your Own Devices) conditions. If you were to use the same device both inside and outside the work place, Samsung’s KNOX security feature, combined with its application container technology, allows you to totally separate your personal files and apps from your office files. While you are on the job, your personal files are totally protected as they cannot be accessed at all while on office mode.

EDUCATION

Student-centric learning, seamless device integration with the teacher’s whiteboard. At any time the teacher can control content that the students see on their tablets. The whole experience is interactive because the students can also show the teacher what is on their tablet. This can then be a two-way interaction between the student and teacher. Add to this an NFC printer where the teacher can just tap and print and whatever he sent to the printer is printed out on the fly. E-books are also provided by Samsung in cooperation with their content publisher.

HEALTHCARE

In the near future, healthcare will be able to make use of existing and forthcoming digital technology to really improve doctor-patient healthcare relationships. Samsung already shows what can be done with their devices now. Here’s a demo of how a radiology information systems partner of Samsung can provide equip doctors to read lab results and prescribe treatment for patients.
